Dr Quratulain holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. She worked as Field Veterinarian in Government sector in Faisalabad, Pakistan and achieved 9 years’ experience in both general and avian practice and laboratory techniques in Veterinary Microbiology.
Currently, Dr Quratulain has been working as Microbiologist in SWFH since 2014. She is involved in standard and advanced microbiology techniques using Vitek 2 for bacterial and Candida species identification and antibiotic sensitivity tests and Bact-Alert units for checking sterility of biological fluids. She is also involved in in-house preparation of agar media using, Masterclave 09 autoclave and APS 320 media pourer/stacker for various bacteria and fungus of clinical interest.
She is also interested in studying bacterial cell biochemical characteristics using Biolog Micro station of bacteria common to the falcon in the region. In addition, she is also interested in research in microbiology related to falcons. She also oversees SWFH cleaning and cold room monitoring.
